Scottish Events coordinated a Tartan Ball to raise the profile and also achieve funding for The Save the Scottish Regiments Campaign. To support the theme guests were invited to wear Regimental dress or to pin a piece of tartan on their outfit to show their support to the campaign. This event allowed everyone who supported the campaign to meet with each another and spend some time in a social setting. Over 200 hundred people were in attendance from all over the UK, Europe and Canada. The venue on the night was the ballroom at the Salutation Hotel in Perth and the evening comprised of a reception with welcome drinks, a three-course dinner with wine followed by a charity auction and dancing to local band Ringer. It also raised their profile due to the large media attendance on the night. In 2005 Scottish Events held a charity parachute jump at Errol Airfield in Perthshire for Save the Scottish Regiments campaign. The tandem parachuters jumped out of the Cessna at 15,000 over the valley of Perthshire. Scottish Events arranged the whole day and had it recorded and photographed for posterity. Large sums of money were raised and the participants and supporters as you can see by the pictures all had a wonderful day. |
